I am your Reform UK candidate for Hedge End South.
I have served my country in the Grenadier Guards, with tours in Northern Ireland, peacekeeping in Cyprus, and supporting the nation during times of disruption, including the ambulance dispute, postal strike, and fire strike in the 1990s. That experience instilled in me discipline, responsibility, and a strong sense of duty.
After leaving the Armed Forces, I built a career in transport before choosing to take on a very different challenge. I moved into the funeral industry, where I worked throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, carrying out all aspects of funeral care. It was a demanding role, but one I found deeply rewarding, supporting families at their most difficult times.
I am standing because I have seen a clear decline in standards across our country. From a lack of discipline to the condition of our streets and public spaces, it is clear that things are not being managed as they should be.
There are serious concerns locally that need addressing. Public money is not always being used responsibly, and basic upkeep is being neglected. Housebuilders must be held accountable for the long-term impact of their developments, including issues such as flooding. Councils must also do more to properly inspect and manage the work carried out by contractors, especially those on long-term agreements.
