Who Is Really Fighting for Hook with Warsash?
I’m Steve Wallace, and I’ve lived in Hook with Warsash for most of my life. This is my home, and I care deeply about what happens here.
I’m a local businessman with a background in the defence industry, so I understand how organisations should work, how money should be managed, and what happens when accountability is missing. I also have a strong connection to the River Hamble and our local waterways, and I know how important they are to the character of this area and the people who live here.
Hook with Warsash has changed a lot over the years. Change itself isn’t the problem, but the way it’s being managed is. Too often, it feels like decisions are being made to us, not with us, and that’s where people are losing confidence.
We can all see the pressure building. Council tax continues to rise, yet many of the everyday issues remain. Roads are more congested, potholes are becoming a constant problem, and local services are under strain. Development continues, but the infrastructure that should support it, from healthcare to transport, is either delayed or simply not keeping pace.
That raises a fair question about where the money is going. Developers are required to contribute towards local infrastructure, yet many residents are not seeing that investment reflected here in Warsash. People are right to ask why.
This isn’t about party politics. It’s about representation and making sure our community has a voice. If I am elected, I will focus on protecting what makes this area special, while pushing for better planning, proper infrastructure, and responsible use of public money. I will listen to residents, challenge decisions where necessary, and make sure local concerns are properly represented.
