Josh Read - Titchfield

 Personal Background

I have lived in this part of Hampshire all my life, and I am proud to call it home.

We are fortunate to live in a place that offers so much, from our coastline and countryside to the towns, villages, and communities that each have their own identity. It is a great place to live, and I want to keep it that way.

That means protecting our green spaces, supporting local businesses, and making sure our community’s voice is properly heard.

I am standing to bring common sense, openness, and a fresh approach to local decision-making. People deserve councillors who are visible, who listen, and who act in the best interests of residents. It also means properly scrutinising how every pound of taxpayers’ money is spent.

I work in the commercial world of real estate and finance, which gives me the experience to challenge major projects and decisions that affect our area. By serving at both local and county level, I will ensure Titchfield has a stronger voice where it matters most.

My key concerns are clear. Overdevelopment is putting increasing pressure on our roads, services, and local infrastructure. Traffic congestion is worsening, and too often development is approved without the necessary support in place. At the same time, we are seeing the gradual loss of the green spaces that make this area special.

I believe in being straight with people, spending public money carefully, and making decisions openly with the community, not behind closed doors.

I am not a career politician. I am someone who cares deeply about where we live and wants to see it protected and improved for the future.
