Julie Harrison - Sarisbury & Whiteley

About Julie

I have spent my whole life in this beautiful part of Hampshire, having lived in Bramdean, Swanmore Park and Bishops Waltham before settling in Curdridge, where I have proudly called home for the past 50 years.

Curdridge is not just where I live. It is my home and my community, and I care deeply about protecting it.

I have always felt a strong sense of duty to serve others, especially those most in need. In 1983, I established a dementia care centre here in Curdridge. It became my life’s work to provide the very best care for both younger and older people living with dementia, and that passion continues to this day.

I left school at 15 with no qualifications, but I was determined to work hard and build something meaningful. It was during my early work in residential care that I saw how impersonal and institutionalised the system had become. I believed there was a better way — one that truly cared for people, supported them, and helped them live each day with dignity.

Today, with my son and daughter helping to lead the business, and supported by a dedicated and compassionate team, we continue that work with the same energy and commitment.

I am increasingly concerned about the direction our country is heading in, and the growing pressure on local services. We are seeing rising debt, stretched resources, and decisions being made that do not always reflect the needs of local people. I believe things will only get worse unless we bring in fresh thinking and a stronger focus on what really matters.

That is why I am standing.

If you elect me as your local councillor, I will listen to you and work hard on your behalf. I will stand up for our community and focus on the issues that matter most — protecting our rural character, managing the impact of new housing, tackling congestion, and ensuring our local services are properly supported.

I will also work to ensure that every pound of public money is spent wisely, with transparency and accountability.

Curdridge is my home. I care about this community, and I will work to protect what we value most.
